DIY bath paints
Recipe by: Kylie Hinton, M.S., OTR/L
My kids absolutely love this activity! Its an easy recipe and easy clean up. Plus its a fun way for kids to work on fine motor skills and tactile play.
Cupcake pan or Ice cube tray (any divided tray)
Paint brushes (optional)
1. Gather supplies
2. Fill each circle in pan with shaving cream
3. Put a few drops of food coloring on top of the shaving cream
4. Mix the shaving cream and food coloring together until mixed well.
5. Have Fun!
6. Can use fingers or paint brushes to paint sides of bathtub.
Benefits of Activity:
Great tactile activity, paint with fingers
Work on pre-writing skills, draw shapes and letters with paint
Work on grasping skills, grasp paintbrush appropriately to paint
Work on learning colors
I used regular food coloring and neon gel colors, both worked great. Bath paints did not stain bath tub, I made sure to wash bath tub after play. This is a great activity for toddlers and young children!
